About us
Last updated October 25, 2026
DeskFit builds free home office calculators and plain-English guides. The goal is narrow: give you a number you can trust, show the math behind it, and cite the source of every external figure so you can check our work.
What we publish
- 3 interactive calculators that run entirely in your browser.
- 8 long-form guides across 5 topic areas.
- Reference pages for the recurring questions people ask about desk ergonomics, monitor placement, chairs, and more.
How our calculators are built
Every tool starts with a written specification: which inputs are required, which assumptions we supply, and which published formula or dataset the calculation follows. The implementation is tested against hand-worked examples. On the page itself we document the formula, list the assumptions, and make each default editable, so a result is never a black box.
Calculations execute client-side. We do not transmit or store the values you enter. That design choice keeps the tools usable offline and means there is no server-side record to leak.
Editorial standards
- We cite primary sources — government agencies, regulators, standards bodies, and peer-reviewed references — rather than summarizing other blogs.
- We distinguish clearly between inputs you control and assumptions we supply.
- We publish and maintain a last-updated date on every article and tool page.
- We separate education from advice: nothing on the site is a personalized recommendation.
- We disclose advertising and affiliate relationships on the pages where they apply.
Corrections
If a number is wrong, we want to know. Email contact@your-domain.com with the page URL, the values you entered, and the expected result. Verified corrections are applied and the page's revision date is updated. Substantive corrections to an article are noted at the bottom of the piece.
Independence and funding
DeskFit is independently operated and funded by advertising. Advertisers do not see editorial drafts, do not approve content, and cannot pay to change a ranking, a formula, or a conclusion. Sponsored placements, if any are ever accepted, will be labeled as such.
